Jonathon’s Sponsorship Request

If you are involved in business in the Dandaragan Shire or staying here at the Redgum Village in Dandaragan or just keen to help out kids with sporting potential on a tight budget.
We are offering companies or businesses or  individuals an interest in helping out some local talent here in Dandaragan that is aiming for state and National honours in motorsport.
We introduce to you a 13 year old boy that is born, bred and schooled in Dandaragan and is a family member of the Redgum Village owners Evan and Gaylene Bradshaw.
Jonathon Bradshaw has been go-Karting now for six years and at the tender age of 13 has entered into the Junior Clubman ranks and is in search of bettering his 2011 West Australian Sprint Kart Champion runner up title that he achieved in Junior National Light.

JNL WA runner-up 2011

Junior National Light AKAWA Sprint kart runner-up 2011

With the previous six years starting in midget dirt kart racing in the Wheat belt Karting league representing the Jurien Bay club, Jonathon was unbeatable and needed some extra competition.
So we looked at bitumen Karting as a midget and joined the Tiger go kart club of Wanneroo.
From here kart racing become a passion and being in midgets the first year on bitumen was a huge learning curve for driver, pit crew and family.
The first state title in WA was at Wundowie near Perth in 2008 and Jonathon was lapped and had to come in early as lapped traffic was considered dangerous and unfair to the faster kids
Welcome to the AKA sprint kart championships my boy!!
In 2009 at the State Titles in Karratha Jonathon turned the midget Karting world around by using a four year old kart with only one motor all year on a 3K budget and ran a extremely close 3rd with 1st and 2nd and 3rd all within a couple meters.
Some kid’s parents spent tens of thousands of dollars but as Jonathon proved at this age it’s all about learning driver skills, not money.

Jonathons Sponsorship plea

2010 and Jonathon is now in the Rookie class and as work panned out we spent 7 weeks in Melbourne and raced six meetings whist there with two major highlights:
1. Qualified 3rd at City of Melbourne Titles
2. Finished 6th at the Junior sprint classic at Puckapunyal after a mid race spin out and a premature race finish due to a red flag crash…he was flying
Back in WA at the state titles at Cockburn Kart Race way we had a huge disappointing run as we misjudged the heat in the track and missed the set up thus finishing well down the ladder.
However this was a great learning experience.

In 2011 Jonathon would turn 13 in September, before the WA state titles so decided to move into Junior National Light at the start of the year.
First race at Wundowie club day Jan 2011 Junior National Light, new kart freshen motor, won it.
The National titles were coming up in Perth at Easter so we off to Melbourne in March for Victorian Open and the day before a training day with Troy Hunt, a highly decorated driver trainer.
The Vic open proved a learning curve on Jonathon’s weak spot the start amongst heavy traffic.
Time wise he was right on the money, unfortunately track position by the final was near the rear but a commendable race through the pack up to 12th was very promising.
Troy said from the training day effort that all he needs is experience in traffic as his times are in line of top 5 within Australia’s best in the JNL.
The Nationals in Perth was again a very big learning curve where Jonathon rubbed shoulders with the country’s best Karters and pitted with the finest CRG team drivers.
A huge experience for a 12 year old boy

Jonathon finished 11th in the Australian Nationals and showed enough promise to be a title contender but are now entering the phase of motor sport where funding does make a difference.
At the WA Sprint Kart Championships Albany October 2011 and regrouping from a DNF in heat one to come 2nd in the final and hold the runner up trophy for the JNL state title was a huge achievement.
Now as we enter 2012 in Junior Clubman the expense account has doubled.
A new CRG Black Diamond 30-28 Kart most suitable for clubman class and his weight being under 40kilo therefore needing 25 kilo plus of lead with the required Yamaha 100 S motor requires approx $7,500 plus new tyres each meeting at $250 a set.

To enter and compete in state-wide events costs around $5k each and we now know money does make a difference as the drivers are getting more experienced and the extra 2 tenths in a motor can make a big difference. Outside of WA costs even more as in transportation and accommodation.
In 2012 we aim to enter:
• Two high profile events in Melbourne, the Vic open and the city of Melbourne titles.
• The Northern Territory State Titles and the Australian nationals at Darwin in July.
• The NSW state titles in October
• The SA state titles in November
• Open rounds in WA at Bunbury, Albany, Kalgoorlie
• And approx 6 open meetings in Perth throughout the year.

Jonathon has awesome speech qualities when accepting trophies on the podium and is very confident and unique. He managed 8 podium finishes in open and state title events in 2011.
Sponsors will get advertising on our plain white trailer and on his kart plus recognition from podium speeches that are truly recognised and always talked about.
The trailer travels to all events, Melbourne, Darwin, Sydney and all events in WA, giving a very broad advertising board Australia wide.
We are seeking major and secondary sponsors and would be grateful for whatever we are offered.
Sponsorship can be a set of tyres to an account at a prominent Kart supply shop with a fully tax deductable deal set up through our accountant.

It will cost us approx $40,000 to be competitive at all the events mentioned and will rely heavily on sponsorship support.
Jonathon will be attending boarding school in 2012 so our kart funding is very limited.
Any help for Jonathon’s career journey to be a professional race car driver into formula ford, V8 supercars, nascar, or even formula 1 depending on results, money ,contacts, talent and the right place right time will be appreciated and treated with the utmost loyalty and respect they deserve.
This boy from Dandaragan has already put our Redgum Village and Dandaragan on the map throughout the Karting fraternity in west Australia which has a following of several thousand people from all walks of life.
